Wingo Review: Is Wingo a Good Airline?
Yes, especially if you want a low fare and prefer to add extras separately. Wingo is a low-cost airline serving destinations across Colombia, Latin America and the Caribbean. It is operated by Aero República S.A. from Bogota, and its GO fares let you choose and pay for the extras you need.
Strengths
- Fares: Wingo offers four fares: GO Basic, GO Standard, GO Plus and GO Extra. GO Plus and GO Extra include a carry-on bag, the first checked bag and airport check-in, while GO Extra also includes priority boarding
- Legroom: Wingo’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft have 30 extra-space seats, and GO Extra includes an extra-space seat
- Fleet: Wingo operates Boeing 737-800 aircraft in a single economy cabin
- Safety: Wingo appears on IATA’s IOSA safety registry, which covers operational safety standards
- Flexibility: GO Standard and GO Plus include Flex 1 for one eligible change under its conditions, while GO Extra includes Flex+, which allows unlimited eligible date or route changes up to 24 hours before the original flight; fare differences may apply
Good to know
- Seats: Every passenger is assigned a seat, and the seats have a fixed recline. Choosing a specific seat is optional unless it is included in the selected fare
- Baggage: Up to three checked pieces are allowed per passenger, so anything beyond what the fare includes must be added as a paid service
- Tickets: Change and refund conditions depend on the fare and service purchased. Any permitted change must be arranged before departure, and a fare difference may apply
Best for short trips around Colombia and the region when the fare matters most and you are happy to choose your extras one by one.
Frequently Asked Questions

Start your Wingo search from this page and book directly with Wego by choosing the Book on Wego option. On the payment page, paste your Wego promo code into the Add Promo Code field and apply it before you pay.
It depends on the code. Some Wego promo codes work for guest bookings, while others require you to sign in. You also need an account to use codes offered to returning Wego users.
Yes. Applying a Wego promo code costs nothing; it only reduces the price of your booking.
It depends on the promo code. Some Wego promo codes cover both domestic and international flights, while others apply only to selected routes or regions. Check the terms shown with each code before you book.
No, only one Wego promo code can be applied to a booking. If you have more than one code, compare them and use the one that saves you more.
Most Wego promo codes apply to the base fare only, so taxes and service fees stay the same. That is why the final saving can look smaller than the headline discount.
After you apply the Wego promo code on the payment page, the discount appears in the total before payment. If the total has not changed, the code was not applied.
When you choose the Book on Wego option, Wego processes the booking and payment, so Wego promo codes can be applied. If a partner or the airline processes the payment instead, Wego promo codes are not valid.
There is no fixed schedule. Wego adds new promo codes as offers launch, including special ones around holidays and events, and removes expired ones, so check back before you book.
The most common reasons are that the code has expired, your route or dates fall outside the offer, or the booking was not made directly with Wego. Wego promo codes only work when you book through the Book on Wego option, so check the code’s terms and try again from this page.
No. Wego promo codes only work while you are making a new booking. They cannot be added to a ticket that is already issued.
No. Your allowance comes from the Wingo fare you buy, and a Wego promo code only lowers the price. Every GO fare includes one personal item of up to 40 x 35 x 25 cm; GO Standard, GO Plus and GO Extra add a 12 kg carry-on of up to 55 x 45 x 25 cm; and GO Plus and GO Extra also include the first 23 kg checked bag.
